I just got my AirPods a week ago and while I mostly love them, switching between devices is not as smooth as I would have hoped. This little app does a great job of letting me know at a glance if they are connected to my Mac - perfect if I'm about to hop on a Webex, and I can keep an eye on the battery level if that meeting goes long.

ToothFairy accelerates the process dramatically. When my AirPods are paired with the iPhone it can take several tries or up to like 15 seconds to connect them with the mac, with ToothFairy it takes no more than one second.

You made me love my AirPods again. I’d just about forgotten them in a drawer because of the garbage connecting experience. It just wears you down over time, ya know?

Fantastic app. Works great for managing Bluetooth headphones, but I recently found another use for it. Sometimes I use my MacBook Pro away from my desk, but close enough that it still tries to retain the keyboard and trackpad connections. ToothFairy makes it easy to sever those connections and save the battery life.

The missing Mac app for AirPods (and other bluetooth headphones). I’ve been using this app since I got my AirPods and, recently picked up a pair of noise cancelling headphones. I now use the app to quicky connect (or disconnect) from either of my headphones with a single click. Works as advertised. Thanks for the awesome app!

Glad to see ToothFairy lives on! Anyone who uses AirPods with their Mac should get this. Lets you connect your Mac to your AirPods using a global keyboard shortcut. I use it on a daily basis. 👍

You can also have ToothFairy run a script when the AirPods connect or disconnect. I have the following set up to show a notification.

Works great to connect to my Sony headphones. When I’m done using them on my Mac, I just disconnect using ToothFairy and then reconnect on my iPhone.

Love this. You click an icon and seconds later you are connected with visual confirmation. Apple should buy this and incorporate in Mac OS out of the box.

Great App - The Convenience Airpods Promised.

Honestly, I’m not sure why this functionality wasn’t part of an OS X update, but lucky for Yibin (Robin) Lu who has solved the problem handily, and deserves whatever he earns. One click in the menu bar or keyboard and my AirPods instantly connect. No fiddling with system preferences or the bluetooth pulldown. If you own AirPods, this is just plain necessary. Robin, next, do something about iOS!

Perfect compliment to Airpods

The most annoying part of using Airpods with multiple things is getting them to connect to the right one. It’s nice to not worry as much now and just have the mac grab them when i need them, and simply let go when i don’t. Vs. the whole holding nearby thing. Perfect tool!

An absolute must-have for AirPods owners

This is the app Apple should have put out. It should have just been a standard feature of macOS Sierra to go along with the new push for wireless. It makes connecting to my AirPods and Beats Solo3 a snap. All I have to do is click the corresponding icon in the menubar and it goes to work connecting. So easy. Thanks to the dev for adding support for multiple devices. Now I have icons for both devices and I can click on either. Just perfect. If you have AirPods, Beats Solo3 or other Bluetooth headphones, you need this app.

This is so simple yet effective. I binded it to f13 and one touch my airpods pair instantly. also the menubar icon showing the pairing status is nice. If you have airpods and switch between pairing with iOS devices and your mac, get this app.

Wonderful for AirPods Users

My AirPods go with me everywhere and I’m constantly moving them from my personal Mac, to my work Mac, to my iPhone and back again. I wish this existed on the iPhone! Click the button and the AirPods are connected, click again and they’re disconnected ready for you to connect to the next device. In fact, AirPods don’t even need to be disconnected, just connect to them to the next device! Love it!

ToothFairy has proven helpful in this regard. I actually purchased BeatsX and AirPods that I move between my iPhone, Macbook Pro, and Apple TV 4th Gen.

To switch AirPods to a Mac, I highly recommend the Tooth Fairy app which allows you to assign a hotkey to the process of connecting to AirPods, or to other Bluetooth headphones.

I use my AirPods all day for conference calls, music, movies...you name it. Often, though, I bounce back and forth between iPhone and MacBook, and this is the perfect utility for making that transition quick!

This is a great help, if you want to switch quickly to a Bluetooth headset on the Mac. I use it with BoseComfort 35 headset.
