On macOS 10.14 and later, you need to tell the system if you want applications
to be able to control other applications or access their data. For example:
- In order to install the plug-in for Apple Mail, SpamSieve needs full
disk access to copy the plug-in into Mail’s folder and to communicate
with Mail.
- In order to train messages in Apple Mail, SpamSieve and the SpamSieve
Helper app need to be able to control Mail to ask it about the selected
messages.
- In order to activate, deactivate, and uninstall the Apple Mail rule,
SpamSieve needs to control Mail.
- Airmail and MailMate need to control SpamSieve to send it messages to
analyze.
- In order to run the certain extra AppleScripts, Mail needs to control
SpamSieve.
- In order to create an “Uncertain Junk” category in Outlook and find where
to install its Outlook scripts, SpamSieve needs to control Outlook.
- In order to whitelist messages from your Outlook or Entourage address
books, SpamSieve needs to control those applications to ask them about
your addresses.
- In order to update the e-mail addresses on your Contacts card, SpamSieve
needs to control the mail programs that you have installed to ask them
about your addresses.
- In order to filter messages in Outlook, SpamSieve’s “Outlook - Filter
Mailboxes” helper application needs to be able to control Outlook and
SpamSieve.
- In order to flash a PowerMate when new messages arrive, SpamSieve needs
to be able to control the PowerMate app.
