To import mail from MailMaven to EagleFiler, you
can:
- Select some messages in MailMaven and press EagleFiler’s capture
key. This is the preferred way to import because it will preserve
MailMaven-specific metadata such as the message’s keywords, project,
flag, importance, and notes. When capturing a single message, its
source URL will link back to the original in MailMaven. Capturing works
in MailMaven viewer windows, in search results windows, and also when
the frontmost window is an individual message. Capturing requires
MailMaven 1.2 or later.
- Drag and drop individual messages to EagleFiler to import them in
.eml format. (If you have many such messages in EagleFiler, it is
more efficient to merge them.)
- Choose File ‣ Export to save multiple messages in .eml format
that can be imported into EagleFiler. (If you have lots of .eml
files, it is more efficient to instead export a mailbox, as described
below.)
- Choose Mailbox ‣ Export Mailbox… to create new mbox file that can
be imported into EagleFiler. Note that this will export the entire
selected mailbox (or potentially multiple mailboxes if multiple
messages in different mailboxes are selected), not just the messages
that are selected. If you only want to export the selected messages,
you could first copy them to a new mailbox and then export that.
When not importing via the capture key, MailMaven does not export metadata
such as keywords, projects, flags, or notes, so these will not be imported
into EagleFiler. However, you can group messages by metadata before exporting
and then re-apply the metadata in EagleFiler after importing.
