3.10   Splitting a File or Folder Into Pieces

If you have a file or folder that’s too large to easily transfer using removable storage or a network, you can use DropDMG to split it into several smaller pieces:

1. Set DropDMG’s configuration to use a compressed .dmg format.
2. Use the Limit segments to __ MB option to enter the maximum size for any piece.
3. Drag and drop the file or folder onto DropDMG. DropDMG will create files with names such as file.dmg, file.002.dmgpart, and file.003.dmgpart.
4. After you transfer all the pieces, make sure that they are in the same folder, then double-click the .dmg file to access the original file or folder.
