If you don’t see SpamSieve’s icon in the menu bar, first make sure that Show
menu bar icon is checked in Settings ‣ Advanced.
If you’re using macOS Tahoe 26 or later, make sure that SpamSieve is
checked in System Settings ‣ Menu Bar ‣ Allow in the Menu Bar.
If you still don’t see it, the SpamSieve menu bar icon might not be visible if
you have lots of other icons shown or if your Mac has a smaller screen. If
there isn’t enough space to show the SpamSieve menu bar icon:
- You can remove other menu bar icons to make more space by
Command-dragging them off the menu bar or by going to System Settings
‣ Control Center.
- The Control Center
icon combines the functionality of many separate icons (Wi-Fi, Battery,
Bluetooth, Sound, Battery, etc.), so some of the individual icons may not
be necessary if you’re using Control Center.
- If your notebook Mac has a notch (camera housing) that covers the
center of the menu bar, note that all of your icons need to fit on the
right side of the notch. Even if there is empty menu bar space to the
left of the notch, macOS will place any icons that overflow the right
side directly in the notch (where they are invisible) rather than
using the space to the left.
- If you can see the SpamSieve menu bar icon in some applications but not
in others, you can give it priority by holding down the Command key and
dragging it towards the right edge of the menu bar. That will ensure
that it’s visible in Apple Mail or Outlook where you need to access it.
- You can still train SpamSieve from its Dock menu by clicking and
holding on the Dock icon until the menu appears.
- You can still train SpamSieve using the keyboard shortcuts
Command-Control-S (for Train as Spam) and Command-Control-G (for
Train as Good).
