Spam Messages Per Day

Mail > Message > Spam Sieve - Open Window > Statistics > Filtered Mail displays the number of spam messages processed per day.

Late last year, this number was about 140 per day. Now, six months later, it’s 33. That seems a significant decrease. SS’s accuracy has in that same time period decreased from 99.5% to 99.4%. I’m still glad to have it!

What numbers do other SS users see? What might cause the general incidence of spam to decrease so significantly? I can imagine upstream server filters we’re not aware of; while my ISP says it does not deploy filters, perhaps their upstream provider does. Or, perhaps, spam rates just go up and down periodically for unknown reasons.
