Amazing character palette bug

I was entering new tags and trying to find appropriate symbols in the open character palette (opened from the tags tool bar). After I clicked the second tab in the character palette (sort by Radicals I believe) the palette became in-operable. Couldn’t click in it, close it, move it, anything.

After restarting twice, the character palette briefly appears on the screen every time I switch from one application to another. I can’t get it to appear from eagleFiler.

Clicking Show character palette from the international menu also causes the palette to appear/disappear.

OS X 10.4.10 1.5 GHz PowerPC G4 1.25 GB SDRAM

Suggestions?

Sorry, I don’t know what would be causing that. The character palette is actually part of the OS, not EagleFiler. Perhaps you could disable it by going to the Input Menu tab of the International pane of System Preferences.
