Open libraries in Tabs instead of windows?

Michael,
I like the tabbed EF interface - I use Spaces and always have EF windows spread all over many desktops. I am unable to find out (I did check the pdf manual) how to change EF behavior and open new libraries in Tabs, not separate windows. Is there a way and if not, can this be added to Preferences? Alternatively, if Tabbed interface was used on quit, EF could open with Tabbed interface - but that is also prone to problems.
Anyway, some way of controlling this seems like useful option to have.

It’s a system-level preference, with a modifier key override. Please see this page.

I did not realize this. It also controls behavior of Finder and other applications at the same time, that is great.
