Best Practices - Historical Mail (Mac)

Hoping someone has a better practice than what I’ve tried previously.

I need to remove SPAM from old email and am wondering if there is a “BEST” practice on how to use SpamSieve to filter existing mail archives. In the past, I’ve highlighted large groups of messages and then clicked “Apply Rules”, however I believe this practice only blows up my Corpus.

I was pondering shutting of Training by unchecking the three "“Train” boxes, but am not sure if this is the best way to address my large historical archives. I am aware that I need to do relatively small blocks of messages at one time.

Any help would be GREATLY APPRECIATED.

Thanks…

Jack.

When using Apply Rules on large batches of old messages, you should temporarily uncheck Auto-train with incoming mail.

Where did you see that? Large blocks of messages should be fine.
