AppleEvent Error - Timed Out

Using Apple Mail in Yosemite 10.10.1
SpamSieve 2.9.18

With every attempt to select the “Train as Spam” command (or keystroke), I get a spinning beachball after the mail disappears from the list. I am now getting this error in the console: SpamSieve Apple Mail Plug-In [Train as Spam] Error Moving to Spam Mailbox: Mail got an error: AppleEvent timed out.

This occurs when selecting a single email.
I can quit SpamSieve and eventually mail will recover.

This last time I found that the email I was trying to “train” in the trash folder after mail recovered, NOT in a spam folder. I’ve got the standard SpamSieve set up and have disabled Apple Mail junk filtering.

It’s essentially impossible to train new junk.

Any help?

Please record samples of Apple Mail and SpamSieve during the beachball.

Is your inbox on an IMAP/Exchange server or a local/POP mailbox “On My Mac”? Is your Spam mailbox on a server or a local mailbox “On My Mac”?

As a workaround, you could try setting it not to move the messages that you train. To do that, choose SpamSieve - Change Settings and leave the name of the spam mailbox blank.
