    1.3.3 re-indexing?

    Thanks for 1.3.3, Michael!

So many changes in a 'minor release'. Wonderful.

Am I right that on relaunch after install EF completely re-indexes all its records? And that this can take a fair...

I synch my EF libraries etc that way at least twice a day using ChronoSync. Works flawlessly every time.

I do use Bidirectional, though. Why not?

    Smart Folder suggestions

    1 - date-specific; more granular than 'Recently'

    2 - containing certain strings

3 - containing items in certain (currently deeply nested) folders

    4 - inverse/negatives of (some of) those.

    Seconded

    Agreed!

Michael's support and expertise are second to none in the Apple community :-)

    Jeff,

In my experience the simpler, less 'proprietary', less heavily-layered, transparent the application, the less of its own manipulation it needs to work, the stabler.

    I've been so impressed...

Is it possible, once a bunch of duplicates has been let in that way, to dedupe after the fact, Michael?

    sherlokk2,

EF is designed to handle pretty large files and data.

What happens if you first open the Activity Window (Task bar: Window > Activity Viewer) ?

My guess is that you'll see one or...

    Thanks, Michael.

I feel sure I have had this happen where there isn't a same name within the same parent. But I haven't kept any examples. If it happens again, I'll look more closely :-)

    Michael,

    Thanks!

In use in the same parent or elsewhere in the whole database?

If the latter, does it matter that I always eventually manage to rename it to something that's presumably a...

    Folder names, '-1' appended

Not at all urgent: Why does the '-1' sometimes appear appended to folder names in the EF resource list (under Records) when they are renamed?

For example, I have a folder, 'Softwear' [sic].

    Yes; thanks.

Something within EF that set those parameters would be a great idea :-)
  20. zips

    Thanks, Michael!

Is there a better/preferred way to handle all zip files so that their archives don't get into EF Files hierarchies 'behind EF's back', so to speak?
  21. zip file in the Files (Finder) but not in EF itself - safe to delete?

I have a zip file in EagleFiler and double-click to expand it.

That, of course, opens the corresponding file - but in the Finder.

But the unzipped file doesn't show inside EF. Is it safe to...

    ChronoSync and Empty Folders

    Michael,

So - just this once - it was safe to 'mess' with the Finder hierarchy because I was reproducing exactly that EF expected, was it?
