EagleFiler supports tabbed windows. A single window can have multiple tabs for
either a single library or for different libraries.
- The View ‣ Show Tab Bar menu item lets you hide and show the tab bar.
- The Window menu contains the following items to manipulate tabs:
Show Previous Tab, Show Next Tab, Move Tab to New Window, and
Merge All Windows. You can also move tabs between windows using drag
and drop.
- Clicking the + button in the tab bar creates a new tab for the
current library, equivalent to the New Tab command in the File menu.
- To create a new window (not in a tab) for the current library, use the
New Browser Window command in the File menu.
- You can control whether new windows are created as tabs or as separate
windows from the Dock pane of System Settings. The Prefer
tabs when opening documents setting has three options: Always, In
Full Screen Only, and Manually. You can hold down the Option key to
reverse the current setting. For example, if you have it set to
Manually (preferring separate windows), you can hold down Option when
opening a library to have it open in a tab instead.
The window tabs feature requires macOS 10.12 or later.
