This is a free update that includes the following enhancements:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Improved compatibility with pre-release versions of Mac OS X\n10.5.<\/li>\n<li>Passphrases are now set in a separate dialog rather than\ndirectly in the preferences window, and this has been\ncombined with the old <strong>Confirm Passphrase<\/strong> feature. This\nmakes it easier to verify a passphrase when you enter it.<\/li>\n<li>DropDMG now accesses the keychain only when necessary, so it\nwon\u2019t prompt you to unlock the keychain if you\u2019re creating\nan image that doesn\u2019t have a passphrase.<\/li>\n<li>The <a href=\"http:\/\/c-command.com\/dropdmg\/manual-ah\/software-update\">Software Update<\/a> checker now works behind an HTTP\nproxy, and the auto-updater is compatible with FileVault.<\/li>\n<li>Reorganized the manual and added <a href=\"http:\/\/c-command.com\/dropdmg\/manual-ah\/burning-backups-of-cds\">Burning Backups of\nCDs\/DVDs<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/c-command.com\/dropdmg\/manual-ah\/transferring-files-secu\">Transferring Files Securely<\/a> sections.<\/li>\n<li>When creating an image of an application or installer\npackage, DropDMG no longer includes file extension in the\nimage name.<\/li>\n<li>Worked around -39 error from <tt>hdiutil<\/tt> when converting\nvery large images with lots of files.<\/li>\n<li>Auto-open is now off by default, since it slows down image\ncreation, and on Mac OS X 10.4 and later the OS will\nauto-mount images automatically, anyway.<\/li>\n<li>Fixed bug where <strong>Burn Folder\/File\u2026<\/strong> treated packages as\nfolders rather than as files.<\/li>\n<li>Better recovery from -35 errors when doing image\npost-processing.<\/li>\n<li>Fixed bugs in enabling and disabling <a href=\"http:\/\/c-command.com\/dropdmg\/manual-ah\/always-run-with-root-ac\">Always Run With Root\nAccess<\/a> menu command.<\/li>\n<li>Fixed bug where the <strong>Services<\/strong> menu commands could appear\nin French if you were using a British English system.<\/li>\n<li>Fixed bug remembering a recent folder that had a slash in\nits name.<\/li>\n<li>Fixed error when initiating a burn via AppleScript.<\/li>\n<li>Fixed small memory leak.<\/li>\n<li>Better names for temporary folders.<\/li>\n<li>Added keyboard shortcut for <strong>Hide Others<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Added Spanish localization.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<p>For more information, please see the <a href=\"https:\/\/c-command.com\/downloads\/manual\/DropDMGManual-2.8.pdf\">DropDMG Manual<\/a>.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>DropDMG 2.8 is now available.
