It is a free update for all SpamSieve users and includes the following enhancements:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Made lots of changes to the parser and classifiers to\nimprove accuracy, especially for HTML and image messages.<\/li>\n<li>The in-memory corpus representation is much more efficient,\nwhich should lead to lower memory use and greater speed.<\/li>\n<li>Rewrote the <a href=\"http:\/\/c-command.com\/spamsieve\/manual-ah\/software-update\">Software Update<\/a> feature. When a new version is\navailable, it can now show you the release notes. SpamSieve now\ndownloads the new version itself, rather than relying on your\nbrowser. On 10.3 and later, the <strong>Download &amp; Install<\/strong> button\nwill cause SpamSieve to auto-update itself to the latest\nversion.<\/li>\n<li>Improved accuracy on messages containing misspelled words.<\/li>\n<li>Now requires Mac OS X 10.2.8 or later.<\/li>\n<li>Auto-training now places a higher priority on corpus balance\ncompared to learning from novel messages.<\/li>\n<li>Improved the Apple Mail plug-in\u2019s <strong>Train as Good<\/strong> script to\nwork around a bug in Mail.<\/li>\n<li>Improved the reliability of the Apple Mail training commands.<\/li>\n<li>Made further changes to improve the success rate of the Apple\nMail plug-in installer.<\/li>\n<li>Updated to PCRE 6.7.<\/li>\n<li>Entourage training progress messages no longer block if\nEntourage is in the background.<\/li>\n<li>Worked around OS bug that prevented the <strong>Statistics<\/strong> sheet\nfrom properly parsing dates when the user\u2019s date format\nstarted with a two-digit year.<\/li>\n<li>No longer quits with an internal error if the <tt>mydefaults<\/tt>\ntool can\u2019t be installed.<\/li>\n<li>Added keyboard shortcut for <strong>Hide Others<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Fixed bug with Purchase window sheet.<\/li>\n<li>Removed some old, unused code.<\/li>\n<li>Updated the toolbar icons.<\/li>\n<li>Various localization and documentation improvements.<\/li>\n<li>Fixed bug with display of remaining demo time.<\/li>\n<li>The Entourage script installer is more robust when contacting\nEntourage via AppleScript fails.<\/li>\n<li>Improved compatibility with Leopard.<\/li>\n<li>The date in the Statistics window more closely matches the\nuser\u2019s preferences (10.4 and later).<\/li>\n<li>Better at detecting damaged corpus files (instead of crashing).<\/li>\n<li>Fixed bug where Uncertain Spam growls were always sent, even if\ndisabled in SpamSieve\u2019s preferences.<\/li>\n<li>Adjusted workaround for Help Viewer bug.<\/li>\n<li>Increased the maximum width of the Hits column in rule list\nwindows.<\/li>\n<li>Added thousands separators throughout the Statistics, Corpus,\nand rules windows.<\/li>\n<li>Fixed bug where adding a rule didn\u2019t create a new rule if there\nwas already a rule with a blank \u201cText to Match.\u201d<\/li>\n<li>Fixed rare crashing bug when performing operations during\nidle time.<\/li>\n<li>Removed the Import Messages command (which let you train\nSpamSieve directly from a file in mbox format), because there\nare now very few situations where it is useful, and it was\nconfusing people.<\/li>\n<li>Added screenshot showing where to find Entourage scripts.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<p>For more information, please see the <a href=\"https:\/\/c-command.com\/downloads\/manual\/SpamSieveManual-2.5.pdf\">SpamSieve Manual<\/a>.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>SpamSieve 2.5 is now available.
