Google Chrome Support

Any chance for Google Chrome support soon?

I remember there was some technical barrier earlier. It is still an issue?
I currently resort to cutting and pasting off the address bar.

Thanks for any guidance.

To work with EagleFiler’s capture key Google Chrome would need to support AppleScript access to the current URL. It currently doesn’t, but Google seems to be aware of this request.

There are several ways of importing from Google Chrome that are better than copy and paste:

  1. Add an EagleFiler bookmarklet to your Google Chrome toolbar.
  2. Select the URL in the Google Chrome address bar and press Command-%. This is the shortcut for Chrome > Services > EagleFiler: Import.
  3. Drag and drop the URL into an EagleFiler window or onto the Dock icon or Drop Pad.

Hi,

I’m using the bookmarklet in Chrome 5.0.307.5 (developer version available at http://news.softpedia.com/news/Download-Google-Chrome-5-0-307-1-for-Mac-OS-X-133693.shtml).

It seems that the bookmarklet only works for the first tab I want to import into EagleFiler. If I subsequently want to import other tabs, the bookmarklet does nothing anymore (focus does not even jump to EagleFiler anymore).

Any idea what could be wrong?

Kind regards,

Bram Adams

This looks to me like a bug in Chrome. I tried several other bookmarklets, and Chrome seems to ignore all the clicks but the first.

Hi,

It looks like Chrome has finally got AppleScript support - http://code.google.com/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=27468

The spec is here: http://sites.google.com/a/chromium.org/dev/developers/design-documents/applescript

Is this sufficient for EagleFiler to do capturing?

Cheers,

Jamie.

Yes. I’m working on it.

Great, thanks a lot

EagleFiler 1.5 can capture from Google Chrome.
