Default Strange quirk with dock icon

After upgrading to 10.5, I have noticed some strange behavior with SpamSieve's icon. Now, when I receive an email, the number indicator in the Dock will be the same for both Mail and SpamSieve. But, after I switch to mail, there (usually) are no messages in the "spam" folder. If I look at the Dock again, the number indicator will be gone for SpamSieve.

That’s what I’d expect, since SpamSieve’s Dock icon reports the number of new non-spam messages.

Switching to Mail is a signal that you’re reading the new messages, so SpamSieve resets the count of new messages.
