We are simply trying to create a DMG 'drag to Applications' installation of a simple directory. However, many of the files in the directory are owned by the 'nobody' user, and must remain that way in the target system. After doing the drag installation, the files in question have changed ownership (to administrator in our case, which is the user we're logged in as).

Is there a simple way to tell DropDMG to retain file ownerships during installation?

Thanks,

Chuck

The following was posted on the DropDMG blog:

Version 3.2.2 of DropDMG is now available. This is a free update for owners of DropDMG 3.0 that includes the following enhancements:

It is now possible to set (or override) layout variables from AppleScript or the command line. This is also useful when creating a disk image of non-application files; DropDMG would be unable to intuit the {$APP_BASENAME}, but you can still set it to whatever you want in your script and have it rendered into the layout.

The HybridFSArgs esoteric preference lets you control which filesystems DropDMG uses for hybrid .iso disk images.

Fixed a bug where sometimes creating a disk image failed if it contained a very large number of small files.

Fixed a bug where .iso files would sometimes be owned by root instead of the user.

Made various minor adjustments to the toolbar icons in the main window.

Added Japanese localization.

For information about previous releases of DropDMG, please see the version history.

Hi guys, loving DropDMG so far! I wanted to ask about creating a DMG file to allow me to install a bunch of preset files into a specific folder in a user's Library folder.

I am creating a series of presets that I want to put inside a "presets" folder. This destination folder will always be the same for each user.

Is there anyway i can achieve this with DropDMG?

thanks!
