View Full Version : SpamSieve doesn't quit when Mail.app quits

Been using SpamSieve for about a month and it works great. One problem I've had, though -- at first, SpamSieve would quit when I quit Mail.app (I do have the "Quit when mail client quits" box checked in the prefs). At some point, though, it stopped quitting when I quit Mail.app, so now I have to quit SpamSieve manually every time. Not a big deal, but would like to have this preference working. I think it may have stopped working when I upgraded SpamSieve to the latest version, but I'm not sure. Any ideas?

The Quit when mail client quits (http://c-command.com/spamsieve/manual-ah/quit-when-mail-client-q) preference will only cause SpamSieve to quit if all the mail clients have quit. This is because some people use SpamSieve with more than one mail program at a time. If you want SpamSieve to quit when Apple Mail quits, ignoring the fact that Thunderbird is still running, you can work around this behavior by entering the following command into Terminal:

defaults write com.c-command.SpamSieve NotifierMailClientNames -array Mail
