apple mail, snow leopard: ss rules not working. manual declaring as spam works. First checked the rules, all ok. apple spam checked off. checked console: ss does not start in apple mail, though the ss menu entries exist and work . Deleted bundle and reinstalled app and bundel - no change.
How are you determining that the rule isn’t working? You said that you “checked the rules.” What does that mean? Did you do the test on the Checking the Apple Mail Setup page? Perhaps you could post some screenshots showing your rules and the rule list.
So what happened when you did the test? Did anything change in Mail? Did anything change in SpamSieve’s log? Or the “All Messages” section of the Console log?
got these console messages .here’s a part of them:

I suggest that you start out by setting it up exactly as shown. Use a single rule called “SpamSieve” and have it move the messages to a mailbox called “Spam” under “On My Mac.”
To fully rebuild the database you would need to quit Mail and then delete the file:
/Users/<username>/Library/Mail/Envelope Index
The SpamSieve part seems to be working correctly, so the question is why Mail isn’t moving the messages. I suggest that you uninstall all your other plug-ins. If it works, you could then add them back slowly and find which one is causing the problem.
