Increase in number of false negatives

I saw a couple of other threads that mention a recent and sudden increase in the number of pieces of spam not being identified. Rather than piggy-back on or hijack one of those threads, I thought it better to start a new thread.

Up until about two weeks ago or so, SpamSieve was catching everything it was supposed to. Now I am once again getting emails in my Inbox from long-legged Russian girls from Nigeria offering me fake designer blue pills to keep me from disappointing my girlfriend with my new enlarged job. Some of them are even writing to me in Japanese.

Looking at the current SpamSieve statistics since 5 March 09, I have had 34 false positives, 1,686 false negatives (98%), and it is 90.5% correct. There are 1,199 good messages and 2,931 (71%) spam messages in the corpus.

I am using Thunderbird on an Apple 13’ MacBook running OS X 10.5.7. I followed the instructions on testing my setup which are shown at this page:

http://c-command.com/spamsieve/manual-ah/why-is-spamsieve-not-ca

and my setup appears to be in order.

What additional troubleshooting advice can you offer me? Is there any additional information I can provide?

Please see this page.

Thanks for the link. I am running OS X 10.5.7, Mozilla Thunderbird 2.0.0.21 (20090302) and SpamSieve 2.7.4.

Looking through the Console All Messages section as I launch Thunderbird and SpamSieve, these messages appear:

There are 1,723 items in the False Negatives folder. I’ve compressed them into the file Archive.zip. Can I send that file to spamsieve-fn@c-command.com along with my SpamSieve Log.log file?

It’s probably not necessary for me to see so many of them. Please send the log file first. The Console messages seem to be unrelated to SpamSieve.
