Opens a sheet that lets you choose a folder to which the selected records will be exported.
Please note that, because the library is open, it is not necessary to export files in order to open them with other applications. You could instead use the Open With External Viewer or Reveal In Finder commands. The Export… command is intended for when you want to make copies of the selected files or when the selected records are scattered throughout the library so that they would not be easy to access from the Finder.
Importing EagleFiler Mailboxes Into Other Mail Clients
EagleFiler natively stores e-mail as mailbox files using the standard mbox format. All Mac e-mail programs can import files in this format. So, usually, it’s not necessary to export mail from EagleFiler before importing it into another app. Here are specific instructions for some common e-mail programs:
If you have a mailbox stored in EagleFiler that you want to import into Apple Mail, go to Mail and choose File ‣ Import Mailboxes…. Select the mbox files radio button, click Continue, and then choose the folder containing the mailbox file. Select the mailboxes that you want to import.
If you don’t want to import the whole mailbox, first select the messages in EagleFiler that you want and choose File ‣ Export:. This will create a new mailbox file (outside of EagleFiler) that you can then import into Mail as described above.
For messages stored as individual .eml files, you can simply double-click the file to open it in Apple Mail. Once open, you can use the Message ‣ Copy Message menu command to copy it into a mailbox in Mail’s data store.
Exporting Mail Before Importing
If you’re unable to directly import a mailbox file that’s stored in EagleFiler, it may help to select the messages and export them as a new mailbox file. This is for two reasons:
Exporting Mail to PDF
To save a message in PDF format, double-click it in EagleFiler to open it in Apple Mail. Then choose File ‣ Export as PDF….
